The NSHIP is a collaborative effort whose creation was facilitated by Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) and the Northside Leadership Conference (NSLC). NSHIP was designated a State Health Improvement Partner (SHIP) in 2000.
The mission of the NSHIP is to improve the health of Northside residents.
Members of the NSHIP accomplish this mission through:
• Completing formal Community Needs Assessments
• Developing community-based strategic alliances
• Providing health awareness, community education, and other health promotion programs
• Developing funding strategies for NSHIP sponsored health programs

Northside Youth Summer Guide
Northside STRIDE walking program
End of Life Care Education and Awareness Campaign
Participating members of NSHIP include but are not limited to Allegheny General Hospital, Northside Leadership Conference, Allegheny County Health Department, Central Northside Neighborhood Council, Councilwoman Darlene Harris, Councilwoman Tonya Payne, Northside Christian Health Center, Community College of Allegheny County, Bravo Health, American Heart Association, Highmark, VITAS Innovative Hospice Care, Mercy Behavioral Health, American Cancer Society, Troy Hill Citizens, Inc., and Fineview Citizen’s Council.
