Historic Deutschtown hosts the nationally recognized Main Street program thanks to the generous support of the Urban Redevelopment Authority and Pittsburgh Partnership for Neighborhood Development. This program provides staffing and technical assistance to Historic Deutschtown businesses and those interested in establishing a business.
The Main Streets Program is also facilitating new infrastructure on Western Avenue in Allegheny West. A $1.7 million project managed by NSLC for the Allegheny West Civic Council, will provide new curbs, brick sidewalks, period lighting, and utilities relocation for this 2 block historic business district.
