Deutschtown Music Festival Skyline Party
The Skyline Party is totally FREE and brought to you by First National Bank on Saturday, Sept.30.
It will feature 7 bands from Noon until 7pm and will be hosted by Hugh Twyman of HughShows Photography
The stage will be located in Allegheny Commons Park next to Sue Murray Pool (Across the street from the Allegheny Elks Lodge).
The goal with this show is to explore this site as a more permanent place for live music and performances. We hope to make this stage a prominent feature in the park. Staging will be provided by Flyspace Productions and sound by HEAR Corp.
Featuring performances by Dinosoul, Old Game, Kaelber, God's Green Apples, Colonel Eagleburger's Highstepping Goodtime Band, Timbeleza, and London Johnson's Magnificent Street Entertainers.
Deutschtown Music Festival is a program of Northside Leadership Conference
Presented by Deutschtown Music Festival and HughShows Photography comes a Saturday night primer. Every Saturday from July 22nd until Sept. 23rd from 6-7:30pm a different performer will be at Arnold's Tea. People are encouraged to come and BYOB while enjoying live music in Historic Deutschtown.
This event is free thanks to the support of East Street Distributing Co. and Slovak Savings Bank.
Attendees will have the opportunity to win a gift certificate to a Northside restaurant from the raffle drawn that evening.

This year's annual dinner was on June 15, 2017 at the Priory Hotel's Grand Hall. 15 high school students were awarded scholarships due to the generosity of our sponsors, community groups and northside businesses. 6 incredible northside residents were recognized with a life time achievement award. Northside Sandwich Week:
Northside Sandwich Week was from May 18-28th! The week kicked off with the Sandwich Sampler: Lord of the Onion Rings on Thursday, May 18th at the Priory Grand Hall with 12 resturaunts competitng for the title of Sandwich Week King or Queen! This year Chateau Cafe & Cakery won with their Mother Clucker sandwich and Young Brothers Bar was the Runner up with their triple decker sandwich! The 3rd Annual Le Tour de Sandwich continued the weeks festivities with a afternoon bike ride with delicious sandwich samples. Main Streets Now Conference
The National Main Streets Now Conference came to Pittsburgh from May 1-3, 2017. Mark Fatla of NSLC, Joesette Fitzgibbons of URA, Cody Walters of NSLC, and Rick Sebak of WQED presented about the importance of using silliness to make money and promote community businesses. 23rd Ward Monument Clean-Up
The 23rd Ward Monument on the Corner of Sandusky St and Stockton Ave was cleaned and planted on Saturday April 1st. The Northside Veterans Monument Initiative would like to thank all of the Pitt Students, Alumni and their families who volunteered to help with the clean-up, as well as The Allegheny Elks Lodge #339, Councilwoman Darlene Harris and Joe Brown.

Northside Mardi Gras Kings
Northside Mardi Gras ended with a Fat Tuesday Party at Alleghenhy Elks. Randy Gilson of Randyland was crowned the 2017 Mardi Gras King by last year's King Rick Sebak while the first Northside Mardi Gras King Jack Hunt hosted the event! Check out our Facebook page for more Mardi Gras pictures!
USS Pittsburgh arriving on the Island of Crete

The USS Requin Base of the United States Submarine Veterans, Inc. sponsor the USS Pittsburgh SSN-720. They asked if they could be provided with Terrible Towels to wave when they entered port. The Base Commander Huey Dietrich arranged to have 100 towels donated to the ship by the towel manufacturer Little Earth Productions. The towels were shipped to Scotland to meet the boat when she arrived.
To get a deeper understanding of submarine life people may go aboard the USS Requin which is the Navy's first radar picket submarine. Visitors will learn about the USS Requin's long defense and scientific missions. This is an immersive experience at the Carnegie Science Center on the Northside of Pittsburgh.
