Join us for the 27th Annual Pumpkinfest, sponsored by the East Allegheny Community Council! Kids and families can decorate a pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch, visit the animals in the petting zoo, play games, make crafts, watch a puppet show, and much more!

OktoberQuest - Northside Bicycle/Brewery Tour
Bicycles? Brews? Why not both! Join us on September 29th for the most epic ride around! OktoberQuest is presented by the Northside Leadership Conference (NSLC) and Walk/Ride Northisde (a committee of NSLC).
Experience the beauty of the Northside by bike and enjoy delicious samples from each of the participating locations:
Allegheny City Brewing; Bier's Pub; Penn Brewery; Spring Hill Brewing; and Threadbare Cider House
Registration and event info:
Maximum of 50 registrants;
Tickets - $25 each (includes 1 bike ride T-shirt, 1 souvenir plastic beer mug, 2 samples from each participating brewery, and memories to last a lifetime!)

North Side/Shore Chamber of Commerce - New Executive Director!
Congratulations to Gina Grone on being named the new Executive Director for the North Side/Shore Chamber of Commerce. She began her offical role on August 16th, after serving as the Interim Executive Director for the last few months.
Ms. Grone is a very active resident and is passionate about the Northside; she currently serves as the president of the East Allegheny Community Council and is a board member of the Northside Leadership Conference.
She hopes to achieve a lot in her new role, and hopes to expand the number of Chamber memberships.

36th Annual Scholarships and Awards Dinner
Northside Leadership Conference celebrated its 36th Annual Scholarship and Awards Dinner on Thursday, June 14th at the Priory Grand Hall.
Northside…Monumental was the theme of the Night, and what a Monumental evening it was; with over 330 people in attendance, the Northside Leadership Conference passed a milestone of awarding over $250,000 in scholarships over the last 36 years!
16 Students received $1,000 scholarships courtesy of Corporate Sponsors, and received $150 Amazon Gift cards courtesy of the Rotary Club of Pittsburgh’s Northside. We honored 10 neighborhood volunteers, 1 Service Provider and 3 lifetime awards.
A great time was had by all!

A Place to Start, 2018
Every Friday this summer at the Farmer’s Market, June 8th through September 21st, we are hosting a health and wellness program to help you find “A Place to Start” on your path to a healthier lifestyle. The program will include free outdoor fitness classes, healthy eating tips, free health screenings, advice from doctors, giveaways, and more! We all have to start somewhere, and we can help you get started!
Each Friday we will have different activities, demonstrations, seminars, etc. Please check our website, and Facebook for updates.
Friday, June 8th we will have Union Fitness offering a free bootcamp style fitness class at 3:30pm and 4pm.

2018 Northside Sandwich Week:
A new King has been crowned! Congratulations to Fig & Ash on claiming victory in their first Sandwich Week participation! The "Lamb Sausage Stuffed Pepper" was a crowd favorite, and it reigned supreme! While their storefront location on E. Ohio Street is not open yet, Fig & Ash is already a Northside staple. Congratulations to the runner-up, Brugge on North, and thank you to all of the particpants, sponsors, and attendees for making another successful Sandwich Week! 23rd Ward Monument Clean-Up
The 23rd Ward Monument on the Corner of Sandusky St and Stockton Ave was cleaned and planted on Saturday April 1st. The Northside Veterans Monument Initiative would like to thank all of the Pitt Students, Alumni and their families who volunteered to help with the clean-up, as well as The Allegheny Elks Lodge #339, Councilwoman Darlene Harris and Joe Brown.
