Over the years the Northside Leadership Conference has
developed relationships with entities such as Allegheny General Hospital,
Heinz, Giant Eagle, United Parcel Service and Oliver High School to name
a few.
The Northside Partnership Agreement with Allegheny General Hospital has
served as the model of cooperation, consultation and collaboration for
close to twelve years. Formalized by a written agreement, the Northside
Partnership addresses issues in neighborhood revitalization, education,
employment, economic development and the health of the community. Working
together, Allegheny General Hospital and the Northside Leadership Conference
have addressed these issues through a variety of initiatives.
The Northside Leadership Conference is also celebrating the new partnership
with the H.J. Heinz Company. This partnership offers a new promise of
community revitalization for the neighborhoods of the East Northside including
East Allegheny, Troy Hill and Spring Garden.
Sponsored through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic
Development, this partnership will join the ranks of only three similar
regional partnerships. Heinz is prepared to make a substantial investment
of $2 million over the next ten years.
The Heinz Partnership was formally announced in October 2001.
In the future, the Conference will strive to engage
more organizations to help fulfill the mission of enhancing the quality
of life on the Northside.
